Our Junior Course, designed especially with the older preschooler and kindergartener in mind, uses the Very Young Pianist method, along with the unique Junior Music Academy curriculum. The class gets young children playing, reading and creating their own music right from the very beginning.

• From the clean faced half note, Mr. Middle C’s white house on the piano street and the Doggie One chord, Juniors learn all the music basics though interactive stories and play.

• Keyboard, singing, note reading, ear training, improvisation, composition and creative movement are ALL INCLUDED in this course. Beginning guitar is introduced in the second year.

• Classes meet once a week for an hour long, fun-filled parent participation class.

First and second graders excel in our Intermediate Course that combines keyboard, singing, note reading, ear training, improvisation, composition and creative movement. Guitar and recorder are introduced as the course progresses.

• Using a primer level piano book, students learn to read music and are also provided opportunities for improvisation and writing their own songs as part of this fun, action-packed class.

• Ms. Treble Clef’s house where she throws parties for Middle C, Droopy D, and Mousie E, dirty faced quarter note and his twin sisters, two eighths, and Doggie One chords are just a few of the fun characters and stories that are used to expose 1st and 2nd graders to music basics. Additionally, ensemble playing and lots of student and parent interaction make for an exciting musical experience!

• Along with piano, beginning guitar is also introduced in the first year.

The Senior Course, designed especially for the older beginner, includes keyboard, singing, guitar, recorder, note reading, ear training, improvisation and song writing.

• Using a chord approach piano method written especially for the older beginner, 3rd - 5th graders take off at lightening speed, reading music, playing chords, improvising jazz, and writing their own songs from their very first classes.

• In addition to keyboard, beginning guitar and recorder are both introduced in the first year of the course.

• Classes meet once a week for an hour long, fun-filled parent participation class.

Infants-2 years

• Our youngest music makers develop a sense of rhythm, pitch matching, and active listening through singing, dancing, playing instruments, rocking & bouncing on mommy’s (or daddy’s or caregiver’s) knee.

• This class is full to the brim with creative music making for infants and toddlers, and explores ways to bond with little ones through music and movement.

• Classes meet once a week for a 45 minute long, fun-filled parent participation class.

Ages 3-5

“Pre-Piano, Singing, and Creative Movement” offers theme based lessons in an engaging and imaginative class.

• Students create their own sound effects and learn simple songs on the keyboard to tell our story of the day.

• Singing, creative movement and lots of instrument playing allow children to explore themes such as Teddy Bear Day, Dinosaur Day, Firetruck Day and Ocean Life Day. Each week is a new adventure!
